AEM Workshop

AEM Workshop is an integrated environment for the interpretation of airborne survey data with a focus on EM.  It combines a profile-view form for analysis of EM profiles and ancillary data with a map view where selected gridded data can be viewed under the flight lines.   Once an interesting EM anomaly is identified AWS facilitates plate modelling of the EM data.  Rather than exporting the data to a separate specialized modelling tool,  AWS provides a range of EM modelling solutions.  For time domain it supports the “quick and dirty” filament plate model which is fast to compute but not ideal for very large  conductors especially having a shallow dip.  In addition it provides a plate model boasting harmonic surface current basis functions, which can provide a much more accurate solution for large and shallow dipping targets.   The data fitting takes place in the profile window which can compare the acquired data to the simulated response.  The modelling process is made more time efficient by use of parametric inversion.  Once an adequate degree of agreement between model and data is achieved, the plate model can be promoted to the project model list.  Models in the current list are projected onto the surface and plotted in the map view.
